Chicago World's Fair Postcards (Shure) N. Shure Co. - 1933
Notes: "Linen" post cards include Colortone photos and artist renditions that are also found in the card sets produced by Blatz Gum. Several vendors distributed individual cards from the series with their own markings, but the most complete and prevalent was the series by Shure. Backs are true postcards, with the marking: "C. T. Art- Colortone - Made only by Curt Teich & Co." Another sizable postcard series with the Colortone images was marketed by Max Rigot Selling Co. (see separate checklist). Gerry Klein (thanks!) reports that variations are found, most with a different secondary number at the lower right of the card front. These could be considered different "editions" and it is uncertain whether all or only some of the cards were reprinted. Some variations are missing the "N. Shure Co., Chicago, Ill" on card backs, and they may have been licensed to different printers or distributors.
