Kentucky Derby Trading Cards
Horse Star Cards - 1991

Notes: These cards were issued both in cello packs and as a 124-card factory set,
which updated factory sets issued in previous years. All information  for the main 
list was taken from the 1991 factory set. Title cards are not numbered; card backs 
give a brief history of the horse and show the sire, dam,  trainer, breeder, jockey, 
owner, odds, time, track condition, and career statistics.  The checklist for the 
color series lists a card 117 with ???? because the set was  issued before the 
running of the 1992 Derby. (Lil E. Tee, ridden by Pat Day, won.) The 1991 
factory set does not include this card, but  the manufacturer expected this card 
to be included in future factory sets. Also, cards 114R & 115R update career
statistics for horses that retired after previous sets were issued. Later annual sets
may have been released, but a special 9-card supplement celebrating the 1992
Derby was sold separately, as summarized below.  Thanks much to Steve Lillard
