The Lion King Series II

Notes:  Some sources have reported promo cards for Series II that sound suspiciously
like the promo cards issued at the time of Series I.  It was common for many items
from the second set issued for a Disney movie not to be marked as part of a second
series, and it is sometimes difficult to know about these cards unless you were there
when they were distributed. Thanks to Carlos Aranda-Díaz for additional
promo info and to the discussion that helped to bring me to this conclusion!  I decided
to break all ties in favor of the listing in Todd Jordan's Promo Card Encyclopedia &
Price Guide, 2002 Edition, for a single "P2" North American promo associated with
Series II. Then, things got more muddy when David Rosciszewski (many thanks!)
reported that were at least six different P2 cards issued for the Australian release of the
set, and Carlos confirmed five of them. I expect this trend is repeated in many other 
Disney sets, which were often issued or re-issued around the world on a different 
schedule from the U.S. releases. 


The Activity cards were distributed exclusively in Wal-Mart packs. The "title card" is
unnumbered and was distributed in packs, and since it's unnumbered it shows up from
time to time being called a promo card.  Me, I consider this an 81-card set with a title
card.  But you might consider a full "common" set to be 80 cards, 81 cards (including
the title card), or 86 cards (including the Wal-Mart Activity subset).
